Election 2002 Results

To those that cast a ballot, thank you! Thirty-four ballots were on hand for counting, more than enough to meet the minimum requirement.

The results were counted at the Fifth Saturday Breakfast on March 30th by Steven AI6Q and Dan W6GCB.

Candidates selected by your votes:

Recall that the term of Secretary was defined as a one-year term. This will restore the election cycle to conform to the club Bylaw &#sect;4.2 (The term of office shall be two years. Three Directors will be elected in even-numbered years, and four Directors will be elected in odd-numbered years.) With vacancies and appointments over the past two years we have somehow gotten out of sync.

Among the other recurring initiatives to accept the budget, the dues proposal, and to allow wait listed applicants to join: all passed unanimously, with the exception of the wait list initiative. There was one no vote on that initiative.

Dues are Due

You have approved the dues for 2002, and now is the time to send your dues in. Dues are $25 until June 30th. Dues will go up to $30 on July 1st. You can send your dues to LCARC, POB 2415, Cupertino CA 95015-2415.

Roster Updates

As each month goes by information on the club roster grows slightly staler. As our members change jobs, telephone numbers, or move from one address to another, that's one more data point that is out of date. As a result many e-mail addresses and telephone numbers don't reach our members as the officers might hope.

On the slipcovers of your 2002 election ballots we detailed the information that we knew about you. If you have not had a chance to look it over yet then please take a few minutes to review it. We surely want to let you know about upcoming events and activities.

If you'd like to update your information then please send a card to the club mailbox LCARC, POB 2415, Cupertino CA, 95015-2415 or e-mail the information to k6fb@arrl.net.

Thank you Joe WB6BJE

The board would like to recognize and thank our outgoing treasurer Joe Alig WB6BJE. Joe jumped at the chance to fill a vacancy on the board two years ago. Joe has tended our treasury well since then. Thank you Joe!

Volunteer Opportunities

Your board of directors are elected volunteers that serve for two years. They keep the business of the club going and offer guidance for activities throughout the year.

Yet, there are plenty of opportunities for you to participate too!

Fred Eatock KF6B is interested in leading a Field Day activity this year. Fred has been scouting for locations. John Rosica, KA2FND has offered a hilltop location on the ranch where he resides for Field Day activities. However, these events don't just happen. Someone needs to organize the day and publicize it.

If you have an interest in helping to organize Field Day, our traditional summer picnic in July or August, or the holiday party at the end of the year (there's still plenty of time to plan this event!), then please contact any one of the club officers.

Abridged Minutes from March 30 Board Meeting

Thank you to Skip AA6WK who filled in as Secretary for this meeting.
